Traffic who?

Traffic who?

I’m troubled by the lack of “traffic” information on the Net. I’m not talking about stoplights or how many people walk the frozen foods aisle versus greeting cards. I mean ad agency “traffic.”

While some agencies rely on Account Executives (AEs) to keep work moving, others have a designated Traffic Manager (a.k.a. “the gatekeeper,” “the filter,” “oh, great one” – my personal favorite).

During my entire college “career,” as my husband likes to put it, I never once heard mention of the position “Traffic Manager.” I’ll venture this to be the case with a majority of universities. Little did I know, while naively cruising the campus of Murray State University, that I’d one day find myself in this indispensable position at one of the largest (and oldest) ad agencies in Louisville, KY.
